Pumpkin Palooza

Updated: Oct 30, 2018

As Halloween approaches and pumpkins pop up everywhere, we offer you a new and elevated way present a traditional fall arrangement.

When we use real pumpkins to decorate our front stoop or tablescape, they get moldy quickly and don’t typically last very long. Consider spray painting a plastic or PVC pumpkin in various metallic shades and using them as containers for a beautiful live plant or a unique silk arrangement.

The best part is that if you fall in love with your arrangement, you can keep it around

for Thanksgiving décor.

HOW-TO: GILD A PUMPKIN

  • Medium artificial pumpkin OR real pumpkin dunked in a bleach solution (25% bleach)

  • Take advantage of your autumn garden. Simply cut the top of any ornamental grass that appeals to you, leave about 4" of grass on each blade

  • Cut Hydrangea flowers with 4" of stem

  • Bronze, gold, rose gold or pewter spray paint

Steps:

1. Hollow out and spray paint your pumpkin.

2. When dry, insert hydrangeas into center.

3. Complete arrangement by inserting grasses in center of hydrangeas.

VOILA!
